Lights, Camera, Action!

Today was our first day of shooting! Finally after two weeks of planning this film we finally got into action. It was a little nerve racking at first because me, my partner, and even the actors didn't know what to expect.  This was my first time creating and directing a film so I was a little nervous but I had a lot of fun. And in this picture we are trying to set up the chess board so we can shoot a scene. But so far this film has kind of been all over the place because and my partner decided it would be a good idea to not shoot in order to make things easier. We want to use our time wisely and not waste it. We are about 50% done with shooting but we still have a long way to go, so we will see how things go on our next shoot day! 

Genre research

 So far, we haven't really done any research we just kind of based it off our idea. So we decided to stick with mystery/thriller for this film. We haven't looked that much into film yet, we are just kind of brainstorming how the film would work and what kind of shots we want to include. Also we are thinking how to make this film make sense since there isn't any dialogue. In my opinion, this film ins't something that we can put much thought into so we don't ruin the whole idea of it considering it's a 1 minute film too. 

Brainstorming ideas

 So far me and my partner have been pretty good on brainstorming. We both had two separate ideas but we decided to combine them together. It actually wasn't that difficult since our ideas were similar. We were just bouncing off each other until we got one good idea! We decided to make this film in a way connecting. We really liked the idea of it being mystery. Almost a thriller. We want to keep the audience on their toes. Not really knowing what to expect but also at the same time make it intriguing. And for it being a 1-minute film it fits perfectly. We will be keeping it short and simple, but also interesting!

 My name is Briana. I am someone who has always loved films and TV shows since a young age. One of the main reason why I love reading too. Reading creates a bigger imagination for me! I can read about 100 different stories through my eyes. I get to see how it would be to life a certain way through just words on paper. It's something that is absolutely fantasying to me. Being able to create such big ideas and stories through letters. Which is why I love film making. It helps me get my ideas out into the world. But more importantly tell people a story. Something about film-making that amazes me is the fact that you are able to capture beautiful moments on camera. Even if it's for a quick second. It's an art that once you truly master it, it is gorgeous!
